Throughout the year, we plan a variety of inspiring events that highlight the work we do.
Graduations – Events held in February/March, June and October to recognize several of the newly formed partnerships of an assistance dog and a person with a disability.
Open Houses – Quarterly presentations for those who would like to learn more about Can Do Canines.

Can Do Canines is Treasure Island Resort & Casino's Charity of the Month in April. The Gaming for Good Happy Hour is free to attend and will include entertainment, light appetizers, a brief program, and assistance dog demonstrations. Our Board of Directors recently passed a resolution for us to move forward with an expansion project. Those plans will include a puppy center for whelping purposes and will address other space needs. In order to grow (or even sustain what we currently do), we need to begin whelping on-site with the help of volunteers. Our whelping volunteers literally bring life to our mission, serving in an intense and crucial way. They turn their homes into “Puppy Central” for weeks at a time, putting a virtual stop to many other aspects of their life. Making the whelping process more of …

Can Do Canines will host an open house on Tuesday, August 22, from 5-8 p.m., at its new Whelping and Growth (WAG) Center (8127 Yale Avenue, New Germany, Minn. 55367). The public is invited to see how this additional site to the current Can Do Canines New Hope campus will be used to whelp new litters of assistance dogs. Please note that this facility is not accessible for those with mobility challenges. Whelping is the process of a dog giving birth. For several years, Can Do Canines volunteers have opened up their homes to care for these dogs. Whelping homes …

Join us for a program that will give you an opportunity to learn about our work and hear how our dogs are changing lives in the Rochester-area community every day. The evening will include a casual reception, including hors d-oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by a one-hour program.
