Graduate Terri Krake and her Seizure Assist Dog Brody were featured on FOX9 at 9.
While some service dogs have been trained to help people with epilepsy detect when a seizure is about to happen, one Twin Cities dog is helping his human stop seizing after the episodes start.
Most people who suffer from epilepsy can’t detect when a seizure is coming on, but they can use a device called the Vergus Nerve Stimulation, which reduces the number and length of seizures and can even stop them with the help of a special magnet — but the magnet is useless without a companion to help.
That’s where Brody comes in. With his help, Terri Krake said she feels free to live the life she deserves.”
