Throughout the year, we plan a variety of inspiring events that highlight the work we do.
Graduations – Events held in February/March, June and October to recognize several of the newly formed partnerships of an assistance dog and a person with a disability.
Open Houses – Quarterly presentations for those who would like to learn more about Can Do Canines.
The Fetching Ball Gala – A wonderful evening held each winter, celebrating Can Do Canines.
Can Do Woofaroo – Our family-fun festival is held in September and includes a variety of exciting activities.

Gaming for Good at Treasure Island

Treasure Island Resort & Casino has generously selected us as their April Charity of the Month. Join us there for an exciting, free event, Gaming for Good, Sunday, April 24, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Gaming for Good presentations, including a special welcome from Executive Director Jeff Johnson, a client speaker, a heartwarming video and an assistance dog demonstration, are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Treasure Island's "Full Deck" space. Throughout the day, take part in family-friendly activities, such as making dog enrichment toys, coloring dog-themed costume masks and observing puppy training classes. Plus, you’ll receive discount offers for the hotel, The Lagoon Indoor Water Park, Island Xtreme Bowl, Wave Spa and Island Pearl Gift Shop just for attending one of the three Can Do Canines presentations. Discounts include:
- Hotel – 15% off April 23 & April 24
- Dining – 20% off April 24 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at all food outlets
- Gift Shop – 20% off on all items on April 24
- Bowling – Half-priced bowling until 4 p.m. on April 24; 1 hour of bowing for $15 (normally $30)
- Indoor Water Park – 20% off April 23, 4-10 p.m. (pool closed on April 24)
- Spa – $15 off a service of $55 or more at the Spa on April 23
