2021 was another wild ride around the sun! We are so grateful to each of you for being on this journey with Can Do Canines. We could not do what we do so well without our amazing community of volunteers. To have you with us, despite life’s challenges, is a gift shared far beyond Can Do Canines staff!
Together, we certified 41 new teams. The lives of our teams, their families and their communities have been made brighter and better because of you!
Together, we began raising and training 104 new puppies. These puppies will someday be ready to help their forever human, but for now, because of you, they are warm, safe and loved!
Together, we welcomed almost 60 new Puppy Program volunteers to our pack. These new faces are often brought to us by word of mouth by current volunteers, so thank you all for creating the best community around!
Looking ahead to 2022, we plan to build on this year’s successes. We are lucky to end 2021 in a strong place with the best supporters. We have all learned so much from navigating through the pandemic and other difficulties. And now, with strength and wisdom, we are excited for our organization’s opportunity to improve and grow!
The Puppy Program team is already hard at work on our “resolutions” for the new year. Here are just a few of the things we are planning for the next few months!

Create an even better user experience for volunteers within our portal and class tools.

Roll out a new and improved Volunteer Mentorship program.

Introduce our new Puppy Program Volunteer Advisory Committee.

Host an inaugural Puppy Program Conference. This will be a new learning and social opportunity for Puppy Program volunteers.

Puppies! This might not be new, but we will always have puppies, and it is a huge part of what we do! We resolve to continue to support all our dogs and fosters through anything this year may throw at us.
