Wisconsin State Regulations

In addition to ADA coverage, Wisconsin state regulations extend the following coverage and protections to service dogs and their handlers.

Injury and harassment prevention

The Wisconsin criminal code prohibits harassment of service animals. Specifically, no one may recklessly or intentionally harass, interfere with, injure, take possession of, or cause the death of a service animal.

Covered while in training

In Wisconsin, service animals in training have the same rights as service animals and are allowed in places of public accommodation. Covered entities may ask for documentation that the dog is in training and is accompanied by a trainer.
