The dogs are provided to the client at no charge. The organization is supported primarily by donations from individuals, corporations, service clubs, and foundations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Feed and care for our program dogs at our facility. The job requires some heavy lifting, heavy-duty cleaning of kennels, managing groups of dogs for exercise time, bathing and grooming of dogs, ability to assist with and perform nail trims on dogs and administer various medications, etc. Feed, clean up after and care for two facility cats. Cleaning the kennel is an essential function of this position!
Shift hours are approximately 4-6 hours in length and will vary depending upon whether the morning or the afternoon/evening shift.
The current position is weekdays (flexible) and three out of four weekend evening shifts per month (3:30-7:30 p.m. OR 4:30-9:30 p.m. ). Some fill-in opportunities are available for more hours. An average of 2-3 shifts per week and 3 of 4 weekends per month on a rotating schedule are required, as well some holidays. The ideal candidate will live close to our facility. The health of our dogs (and cats) is our first priority. Your reliability and perfect attendance are crucial to the position. You must be able to work outside for extended periods of time (and in all weather conditions; heat, extreme cold, rain, wind) as the dogs need to go out regardless of weather conditions!
Required Qualifications
Some experience working with animals is required, volunteer/intern/unpaid experience is valid and should be included in your resume. Kennel experience is preferred. Understanding of (and ability to perform) safe methods of lifting up to 60 pounds is required. Must have a willingness to be flexible enough to perform various tasks as requested. The ideal candidate will be hardworking and possess an enthusiastic, positive attitude and a love for dogs!
