Can Do Canines is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with specially trained dogs. The dogs are provided to the client at no charge. The organization is supported primarily by donations from individuals, corporations, service clubs, and foundations.
Job Summary: Provide support to graduates to enhance the client experience and overall success and longevity of working teams
Salary: Exempt, $44,000-$45,000
Hours Required: Minimum 40 Hours per week, including weekend and evening hours
Deadline: Open until filled
Relationships
Reports to: Client Services and Training Manager
Frequent Interactions With: Client Services Coordinators, Program Trainers, Director of Training, Kennel Manager
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate graduate team services including public access test recertification and other annual requirements.*
- Review and coordinate follow-up on graduate annual surveys, which may include, but is not limited to, refresher training, veterinary advice and support, dog weight loss support, workplace or school support, public access questions and concerns.*
- Coordinate continuing education and social event opportunities for graduates both virtually and in person.*
- Maintain and update information on the client services portal and on the graduate Facebook page.*
- Support graduates in end-of-life and retirement decisions for their assistance dog.*
- Monitor and assist any field trainers working with graduate teams on refresher training.*
- Make public presentations including virtual and in-person assistance dog demonstrations/classes.
- Contribute to the creation, review and updates of training manuals.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree and five or more years of related experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree and or three or more years of related work experience, or
- 10+ years of experience
Experience
- Experience in assistance dog training and teaching dog-handing skills to others, experience in client relations and in working with persons with disabilities.
- A valid driver’s license and insurability are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
- Experience in program coordination, working with volunteers and contracted field trainers, knowledge of Assistance Dog International (ADI) regulations, and fluency in American Sign Language are preferred.
